Lexi Adsit is 23 years old and a recent graduate of San Francisco State University with her degree in Women & Gender Studies. She is currently a columnist for The Rainbow Hub and Program Intern for the Youth Leadership Institute in Marin County. She has worked in various capacities with Non-Profit organizations for the past six years. She has also worked with Research and Academic institutions for the past two years. Last Summer Lexi was one of six Summer HIV/AIDS Research Fellows at the San Francisco Department of Public Health and conducted a secondary analysis of semi-structured interviews with HIV positive black trans women living in Oakland, CA. She is currently in the process of preparing her project and others for submission to journals and conferences.
Lexi has presented her academic work at numerous conferences over the past two years traveling to Los Angeles, CA and Poughkeepsie, NY to present her work on radical forms of resistance to interpersonal and institutional violence against trans women of color. She has also conducted oral histories with sex workers and plans to continue her research at the graduate level.
